Tracking Progress

Canada has committed to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40 per cent below 2005 levels by the end of this decade–that means a maximum of 440 Mt emitted in 2030.

By working toward this goal, and the longer-term target of net zero emissions by 2050, Canada is contributing to global efforts to prevent catastrophic climate change.

Our data and insights make it easier to track climate policy progress in four areas:

Pathways

Is Canada on track to reduce emissions to 440 Mt by 2030?

Policies

What are governments doing to get to 440 Mt?
